winter rabbit

Snow and cold are getting very close to us. Well, mostly snow because the cold is already here. Some of us will be storing our cars in garages for the next 4-6 months, but some will be rocking the same car in winter.

It would be awesome to see YOUR winter mode or your winter beater posted on our forum, so please, go ahead! Whore those pictures here: Show Off Your Winter Mode

Philippe Myers Vw Rabbit

Presenting Philippe Myers’s Vw Rabbit. This old school bunny is probably one of the coolest cars to participate in iHeartEuro cruises. This flat brown 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit LS with 4Cyl 1600cc 8v Diesel engine with 552 000km on it isn’t as slow as you might thing. Normally it has no problem keeping up with MK4′s and MK5′s (most cars that show up to our cruises).

Well, let’s look at some details of this 27 year old vee dub:

  • 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit LS (Chassis Type-17 2Door), Flat Brown
  • Engine: 4Cyl 1600cc 8v Diesel with 552 000km, orange fluo oilpan
  • Suspension: Coilovers Patec Holeshot, polyurethane bushings all around
  • Wheels: Mags OEM Tarentulas 13×5.5, 175/70/13 tires.
  • Interior: Recaro Trophy seats,  Scirocco S steering wheel
  • Other mods:
Front Bumper pre-81 US chrome with over-riders, Rear Bumper custom euro plastoc, Flashers euro 81-84, Euro Front fenders,  Westmoreland rad support, Small Duckbill, 2spot  grille early chromed trim, crystal-clear Headlights, Small-Taillights Conversion, Taillights early All-red, Mirror Black-Flag on Driver’s side, passenger mirror is shaved, Antique Belge plate,  Yellow Euro Mono-foglight, Ooga Horn.

… and more things in project for this awesome Rabbit!

With the coming of the cold weather, make sure your ride is ready for the worst. The last thing you want is to be stranded in sub-zero temperature, wondering why your “check-engine” light is on. Times like those you WISH your veedub caught fire. :p

We also need to expect the unexpected; situations unforeseeable no matter how many preventive measure we follow.

Just a few examples:

- A few months ago, my buddy Jeff’s Rabbit was hit by a bus a week after he drove it off the lot.

- A bit over a month ago, a lady in her mid-40′s decided to drive her Camry into the rear-end of my motionless Rabbit in traffic.

- And I’m sad to say our buddy Greg from the iHeartEuro crew just had a little mishap of his own.

Drive-safe, and enjoy the winter in your japanese beaters & rat-stylez rust buckets.

Help fund the Fix-Mah-Turbaw Organization after the jump.

European Cars Cruise

Another great season is coming to end – of course we could not let it end without one final cruise.

This year we are adding a little twist. Only the organizers of the cruise know which route will be taken, it is a surprise for everyone else (besides the fact that we will be cruising in Southern Quebec, not far from US border. The ride will be held on a Sunday, October 11th and anyone who owns or drives a European car is more then welcome to join a day full of fun, adventure and breathtaking scenery.

Car Wash!

These were taken pre-WF15. The boys were getting excited, and decided to go for a wash after the Julep meet. My bad for not posting the pics sooner.  Enjoy!

Hey guys.  This is my first post on I♥Euro.com, and I’d like to share a couple of pics I took at this week’s meet. Keep comin’ back for more; I’ll be adding some whenever I get a chance to shoot!

If you prefer using a flash web-viewer, visit my website. IMO, it’s easier to navigate, and you can even use the arrows to flip through the pics. Link:

iHeartEuro.com held its first cruise for the season on May 24th. About 20 cars left Montreal that sunny Sunday with Ottawa as final destination. At some point Greg (mk4 Jetta with A8 wheels) got to lead – no one knew his GPS was all messed up and gave us some weird directions. Well, that gave us a reason for a short stop to take some pictures… An hour later after the stop we reached Ottawa and met up with the OVD (Ottawa V-dubbing) club. Another photoshoot and we headed to Broadway Bar & Grill since many of us were getting hungry. A few cars headed back to Montreal right after eating, others stayed to hang out with Ottawa guys for a while.

In the end it was a good turnout. The day was beautiful, the ride was fun, the cars were great (for the most part) and of course bunch of friendly folks. Ottawa will become our “MUST” cruise every year. Next up – an improvised cruise. We will head wherever the roads take us, then return home with a GPS (not Greg’s)…

And here is a little video of the cruise. (Sorry for my 2001 crappy camera). Donation for an HD cam are accepted :D

iHeartEuro

After long and cold hibernation (at least in Canada it was long and cold) folks are starting to take their stored rides out. People start working on their projects, swapping wheels, going to meets and car festivals.

Many changes are coming to iHeartEuro.com this year. The community is growing and hopefully our forum will get more active in the next few weeks. Cruises, contests and videos are coming to iHeartEuro – so don’t forget to visit us often!

Yet another successful cruise, this time to Ottawa!

9 cars left from Montreal, unfortunately someone got lost… I still can’t figure out how we lost someone on the highway…

We got to Ottawa’s Broadways restaurant and met up with some dubbers from OVD, had lunch, then moved to Vincent Massey Park to take some pictures… All the photos could be found HERE

Great people, great drive, great time!

… and to the next cruise! (Hopefully with more European cars)
