When I first watched this video I could not believe the event took place in Poland… We don’t often hear of modified dubs from over there… but then, we live in North America and don’t hear much from anywhere! It is now my goal to attend the show in 2011!!! The film is real fresh, it was uploaded only 2 days ago! For now, enjoy this amazing video from Vag Event 2010!
This year, once again, the iHeartEuro crew is joining the constantly growing Orangeball Rally, the famous rally from Montreal to New Jersey for the biggest in Volkswagen/Audi event in North America - Waterfest.
If you would like to join, you need to get in touch with the OrangeBall crew @ OrangeBallRally.com. Please remember, this is not a race but a rally.
There is a 5$ discount for the Waterfest tickets for every member of the iHeartEuro crew (and remember, we welcome everyone and there is no fee to be a member of iHeartEuro). Check out this post on the forum to get more details about getting your discount! $5 isn’t a tremendous amount but as B. Franklin once said; “a penny saved is a penny earned”.
Dennis and I decided to join the local BMW club and drive some 200km to Quebec city where Gumball 3000 Rally was stopping for the night. For most part the weather was nice and Dennis managed to get some great shots. It seems like the Surete du Quebec Highway Patrol were ready for the participants of Gumball Rally and set up speed traps every few kilometers of the road… yes, you got it right, we had no choice as to cruise slowly, not passing 120km/h.
In a few days we should we able to post all the photos of actual GUMBALL 3000 participants and maybe we’ll even get the chance to edit the video footage You can also visit our friends @ www.FuelRiders.com for lots of outstanding pictures from this event!
Boys and girls, we are ready for the first cruise of the season! It will happen on May 2nd and we will be heading towards Sherbrooke for Deutsch Fest 2010! The organizers of Deutsch Fest will be providing BBQ grilled $2 hot dogs, $3 hamburgers and $3 beers, the funds collected will be used to finance another edition of DEUTSCH FEST later this summer (in August). Great opportunity to meet the iHeartEuro crew and other dubbers from around QC!
Seems like the winter is finally over! People are taking out their rides from storage, others swap their winter steelies to nice low profiles, weekly meets have more and more attendees! The winter has been rough for some of us… Greg’s car practically died (too many things to repair; including turbo and transmission), one of our crew members’ car was stolen (but he got an MKVI GTI instead) and I had a pretty bad accident; my 2.5L was declared total loss – important thing is, no one was hurt! And on the bright side, I got an Candy White MKVI GTI!
Recently Phil hosted my Birthday party at his awesome condo – the core members of the crew were there to celebrate with us and the whole thing was EPIC! Some pics for kicks:
Well, you get the point! Funny story, the two plates we had at the party got “stolen”… In the morning a friend of mine called and told me he found the plates in his trunk… although he doesn’t have a clue how they ended up there. Oh Alcohol!
So here we are, the end of April 2010 and staring the new summer season We are going for a cruise this weekend, everyone is welcome to join in! I will post the details tomorrow
p.s. For a few people this video is not working in “embedded” format. If this is the case for you,
please click on the link underneath the video, you will be taken to VIMEO, problem solved
Another great season is coming to end – of course we could not let it end without one final cruise.
This year we are adding a little twist. Only the organizers of the cruise know which route will be taken, it is a surprise for everyone else (besides the fact that we will be cruising in Southern Quebec, not far from US border. The ride will be held on a Sunday, October 11th and anyone who owns or drives a European car is more then welcome to join a day full of fun, adventure and breathtaking scenery.
iHeartEuro.comheld its first cruise for the season on May 24th. About 20 cars left Montreal that sunny Sunday with Ottawa as final destination. At some point Greg (mk4 Jetta with A8 wheels) got to lead – no one knew his GPS was all messed up and gave us some weird directions. Well, that gave us a reason for a short stop to take some pictures… An hour later after the stop we reached Ottawa and met up with the OVD (Ottawa V-dubbing) club. Another photoshoot and we headed to Broadway Bar & Grill since many of us were getting hungry. A few cars headed back to Montreal right after eating, others stayed to hang out with Ottawa guys for a while.
In the end it was a good turnout. The day was beautiful, the ride was fun, the cars were great (for the most part) and of course bunch of friendly folks. Ottawa will become our “MUST” cruise every year. Next up – an improvised cruise. We will head wherever the roads take us, then return home with a GPS (not Greg’s)…
And here is a little video of the cruise. (Sorry for my 2001 crappy camera). Donation for an HD cam are accepted
Yet another successful cruise, this time to Ottawa!
9 cars left from Montreal, unfortunately someone got lost… I still can’t figure out how we lost someone on the highway…
We got to Ottawa’s Broadways restaurant and met up with some dubbers from OVD, had lunch, then moved to Vincent Massey Park to take some pictures… All the photos could be found HERE
Great people, great drive, great time!
… and to the next cruise! (Hopefully with more European cars)
